A lot of us look forward to weekends, when we can take our time with making an elaborate breakfast. You know, the kind where you get to sit back and enjoy a cup of hot coffee, a fresh omelet and a side of crispy bacon. There’s no denying how good bacon smells, and now, this online retailer is selling T-shirts scented like bacon (and a whole bunch of other stuff), so you can go around all day smelling like your favorite breakfast food. Call us crazy, but this is a sweet, or maybe savory, idea.

Candy Couture California is a “luxurious and fun lifestyle brand” that creates scent-infused T-shirts with a focus on aromatherapy. Sara Kissing founded the company in August of this year, and the idea for the scented apparel stemmed from her job in the fashion industry years ago:
Being surrounded by fashion, there was something missing. The one extraordinary fashion brand that offered something different than just a standard T-Shirt in their portfolio. The challenge was to develop a T-Shirt with a unique differentiator (scent) that can be worn day-to-day, but also on the weekends or when going out. The combination of high quality, extravagance, fun, aromatherapy and creativity is the essence of CCC.
Here’s a bit of background information on how this all works. The design is printed on a lightweight T-shirt with a “scent-infused gel application” that adds the smell feature. According to Candy Couture California’s website, it can last anywhere between 15 to 20 washes, but this all depends on how you care for the shirt. Like most things, the scent starts to slowly wear off, but it’s recommended that you hand wash it in warm water (or on a delicate cycle) with unscented detergent.
If you’re not totally sold on the whole bacon smell, there are other options available, like coffee, strawberry and even Christmas pine. Another interesting scent listed is “Race Fuel,” which has “sweet notes of motor oil and high performance gasoline.” We can already smell the smelly smell of gasoline just thinking about it.

This is a neat idea for an added element to complement a shirt’s visual design. We’re not totally sure we’d choose the motor oil scent, but other soft scents like vanilla or lavender would be a cool. In any case, it’s less gross than those T-shirts tie-dyed with actual gravy!
