BYBBA Partners With 4Ocean To Combat Plastic Pollution

Sustainable bag brand BYBBA (asi/42442) says it’s taking its commitment to fighting the global plastic crisis to the next level by partnering with certified B Corp 4Ocean, an organization dedicated to preventing and removing plastic from oceans, rivers and coastlines.

Beginning Oct. 1, for each of its bags sold – whether wholesale, business to business or direct to consumer – BYBBA will fund the removal of one pound of plastic waste through the efforts of 4Ocean’s team and infrastructure.

“Our goal is to leave the planet better off than when we started, keeping our oceans clean for generations to come, one bag at a time,” said Pam Seidman, founder and CEO of BYBBA. “We’re creating ways to reduce, reuse and now reward with every purchase.”

BYBBA, pronounced “bee-bah” and an acronym for “Bring Your Bag Back Around,” was launched to bring a high-quality reusable bag into the market, and the brand’s products can be found at Bloomingdale’s, J. Crew and other retailers. Made with recycled materials sourced from the ocean, the brand focuses on a clean, modern aesthetic and takes color inspiration and design details from the sea.

In support of the partnership, BYBBA will be selling dedicated limited-edition branded merch – including its Balos and Little Sur styles – on its own website and 4Ocean’s site.

4Ocean oversees daily cleanups around the world, creating jobs for people living in communities affected by plastic pollution. Its mission is to protect and preserve oceans through upcycling programs and brand partnerships that directly fund plastic removal efforts. Since 2017, 4Ocean said it has recovered nearly 39 million pounds of trash from the world’s oceans, rivers and coastlines.
