If this is an April Fool’s Day prank, Calvin Klein is a few weeks late to the fun. According to Nylon, the fashion brand just released a pair of $390 rubber cleaning gloves, and we are thoroughly confused.
The Pink Rubber Gloves come in one size, and are described as “rose” pink with a logo and text printed at the cuff. They are 100 percent synthetic rubber, and made in the U.S. At the bottom, it reads “Calvin Klein,” while the other side reads “Made in Ohio.” Nope, we still don’t get it.
Calvin Klein’s rubber cleaning gloves look made its debut last September during New York Fashion Week. The gloves are part of the brand’s new collection, which features brightly-colored coats, button-down shirts, a $380 pom-pom keychain, sunglasses, an electric chair tote and more. Oh, there’s also something called a $2,200 blue drawstring tent coat.
So, back to the gloves. They’re definitely on-trend, thanks to the millennial pink hue, but they’re still cleaning gloves. Are you supposed to clean with them? Or wear them out? Are they a cold weather staple? Or, can you put them over your driving gloves when it’s raining? Someone please explain this to us. Calvin Klein, you know where to find us. We’ll be at our desks in our on-trend look, just waiting for your response.
What do you think of Calvin Klein’s new fashion staple? Will rubber cleaning gloves ever make it into your promotional apparel offerings?
