CPSC Recalls Sharper Image USB Wall Charger

This week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of a USB wall charger featuring a logo for The Sharper Image.

The chargers were imported by Atomi, an importer based out of New York, and were manufactured in China. They were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, Tuesday morning and TJ Maxx stores, as well as on multiple websites, between October 2011 and September 2012.

The USB Wall chargers are known to overheat and smoke, posing fire and burn hazards to customers. The CPSC said they had received 13 reports of chargers overheating, smoking and giving up acrid odors. There were no injuries.

Two model numbers of the items are recalled: TSI202 and TSI260. Consumers should contact Atomi for a full refund at (800) 790-1440 or [email protected].
