St. Paul, Minnesota-based Crystal D employees volunteered more than 1,000 hours in their community in 2017.
At WOW Day in January 2017, company president Chuck Dahlgren challenged the company to collectively volunteer 1,000 hours in the community. Traditionally, the company sponsors a blood drive, volunteers as a group at Feed My Starving Children, donates to a local food bank and adopts five families during the holidays, buying gifts for the family members. In addition to these events, Crystal D employees volunteered 1,071.25 hours in the community, meeting Dahlgren’s goal.
The company volunteered with more than 30 different organizations to meet this goal, and controller Cathy Klein was thrilled to see the results.
“Giving back is so important,” she said at WOW Day 2018. “You never know whose life you are going to change by volunteering.”
