BIC Graphic, Clearwater, Fla., is inviting promotional products distributors to vote on the next new BIC Graphic writing instrument. Distributors can vote online on three new prototypes that are being considered for 2016.
“Basically, we wanted to give distributors the opportunity to influence product development and engage with the BIC brand in a meaningful way,” said Margit Fawbush, communications manager at BIC Graphic. “We will also be asking for their input on naming and pricing of the winning product in the coming months.”
Fawbush added that BIC Graphic has used focus groups and customer surveys in the past, but this is the first time the company asked distributors to weigh in on product development on this large of a level.
“Earlier this year, we conducted a sweepstakes using distributor case studies as a means of entry via Facebook,” Fawbush added. “We’ve now converted those case studies into graphics, and are using them to share ideas and product stories across a number of platforms in the coming months (Pinterest, Facebook and other more traditional marketing materials). We absolutely plan to explore more user-generated content opportunities.”
