DLX Industries Acquires Artcraft Leathergoods

DLX Industries, a Brooklyn, New York-based supplier since 1950, recently acquired Artcraft Leathergoods, which includes the Leathermark Accessories brand. Artcraft, which has been in the industry for 63 years, also is based in Brooklyn, but will move to DLX’s nearby 80,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility.

“Artcraft and DLX had been in discussions over the last few months, and the sale of Artcraft to DLX was the culmination of those discussions” Artcraft president Bernard Kandler. “Mark [Stewart, CAS, DLX president,] and I shared the common belief that moving forward together would service the Artcraft client base more effectively. Ultimately our distributors will be quite well served.”

Kandler will become a special consultant to DLX.

“We anticipate an extremely smooth transition as DLX has manufactured and administered a large segment of Artcraft’s existing product line over the past several months,” Stewart said. “Our lines overlap in some areas. In others, we’ll be able to offer a larger spectrum of products. In both cases, we anticipate significant growth opportunities. More importantly, we look forward to providing Artcraft’s distributors with the highly rated quality and service that DLX offers.”
