We’ve been following this souvenir cup court case pretty closely, and it seems like there might finally be an end to the dispute. The legal battle took place between Dynamic Drinkware LLC, Oshkosh, Wis., and National Graphics Inc., North Branford, Conn., in court proceedings that have spanned the past few years.
According to Plastics News, on March 31, it was announced that Dynamic purchased National’s patent portfolio for an undisclosed price, which officially ended the patent dispute. Had it not been for this sale agreement, the case was scheduled to go to trial this summer.
Dynamic will now have access to a wider variety of graphics for its plastic cups.
“The resolution will benefit the injection molding industry and eliminate the threat of future litigation over this issue,” said Barry Johnson, president of Dynamic, in a press released obtained by Plastics News. “We are happy to put this matter behind us, and are looking forward to expanding our offerings with lenticular and other high-quality cups.”
