Edgar F. Trombly, Product Designer for VisionUSA, Passes Away at 86

Edgar F. Trombly, product designer for VisionUSA, passed away July 20 at the age of 86. He has been part of VisionUSA since its inception in 1989. Mr. Trombly designed many of the company’s award-winning products such as the Infuser Water Bottle (2012 Counselor Design Awards), Save-A-Bottle (2011 Gold – PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards Most Creative New Entry) and Soup Mug Soupreme (2010 Gold – PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards Most Creative New Entry).

Mr. Trombly was a pioneer in the field of industrial design for over 60 years. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he worked for General Motors Design Center. He holds over 60 patents to his name and created hundreds of patented designs for major corporations including Dow Chemical, Mobil Chemical, Sears, J.C. Penney, McDonald’s, Taco Bell and many others.

VisionUSA partners, Michael Fishman and Mark Weissman, are deeply saddened by the loss. Mark Weissman noted, “Ed was part of the VisionUSA family. He designed many of our most innovative products. His talents helped to build our company.”
