Industrial inkjet print company Electronics for Imaging and Agfa-Gevaert announced this week that they are combining Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions business.
Going forward, Siris, a portfolio company of EFI, will hold a 60% interest in Agfa’s DPS, and Agfa will hold 40% in the jointly held company. The now-combined entity will operate under a governance structure where Siris and Agfa serve as equal partners.
This follows the global partnership that EFI and Agfa formed in 2024, allowing them to complement one another’s services in digital print across different product categories and uses. At that time, Agfa integrated EFI’s roll-to-roll printing systems, and EFI brought in Agfa’s hybrid inkjet printers.
“Today’s announcement reflects our long-term commitment to digital printing and our conviction in the future of the industry,” said Pascal Juéry, CEO of Agfa-Gevaert. “By bringing together Agfa DPS and EFI, we are creating a stronger business with greater scale, broader access and enhanced innovation capabilities. Rather than continue as a standalone business, we are choosing to partner with Siris to unlock the next phase of accelerated growth for our DPS business while maintaining meaningful upside for Agfa’s stakeholders.”
Vincent Wille, president of Agfa DPS, added that the partnership can accelerate the adoption of digital printing across the industry.
“By combining technology leadership, global reach and deep application expertise, we can help our customers achieve new levels of productivity, agility and sustainable growth,” Wille said, “enabling them to innovate faster, reduce waste and create lasting value across the entire print ecosystem.”
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary employee information, closing conditions, consultation processes and regulatory approvals.
