This Distributor’s ‘Networking Bracelets’ Are Simple, Genius Promos for In-Person Events During Pandemic

A Fully Promoted franchise owner has found a clever way to not only enforce safe practices at in-person events, but do it in a way that doesn’t inconvenience attendees. Using color-coded bracelets, Fully Promoted of St. Charles gave people at the St. Charles, Illinois, Chamber of Commerce a way to nonverbally communicate their level of comfort with contact.

At check-in, guests picked up a branded bracelet in either green (“Happy to high five and hug!”), yellow (“I am okay with talking, but please no hugging or handshakes”) or red (“happy to see you, but keeping my distance”).

It’s such a simple concept, but does so much to alleviate stress and potential awkwardness at an event during an already stressful time.

“My business focuses primarily on helping others promote their businesses,” Michelle Bottino, owner and operator of Fully Promoted of St. Charles, said in a press release. “I couldn’t help but think that I could do more for them right now as they rebuild and get back to networking in person in some fashion. The wristband is just one of the many ways we are looking to get businesses back to business at a time when they need us the most. The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce chose to use this affordable yet extremely effective visual aid to help put attendees at ease while attending an event and adhering to local guidelines and regulations. It takes away the need to verbally express, ‘Hey, I’m here, but I’m not comfortable with shaking hands just yet.’”

As in-person events return in limited fashion or with new health guidelines, promotional products can play a role in comforting attendees and keeping them safe. Products like floor decals enforcing social distancing, hand sanitizer stations and, of course, face masks have been and will continue to be vital in the current climate. Something as simple as a color-coded wristband does a lot to take away some of the fear and allow people to safely return to some form of normal while they continue with their professional and personal lives.

“At Fully Promoted, our goal is to keep our customers safe,” Bottino said. “But we have to learn to live with COVID and get back to business.”

Fully Promoted is introducing a full line of “networking bracelets,” with different features and materials, such as silicon, rubber and Tyvek paper.
