The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced yesterday that GSI Outdoors, Spokane, Wash., is recalling its kids’ insulated water bottles that it sold exclusively at L.L. Bean stores from July 2015 to May 2016. The water bottles are in violation of federal lead standards.
A solder at the base of the bottle contains high levels of lead, posing a risk of health issues if ingested.
The recall involves five styles of insulated water bottles. The 13.5 oz. bottles come in the following prints: Dino Bones, Flower Power, Orange Grid Camo, Purple Tie Dye Butterfly and Robo Shark. The bottles feature an ID number “297684” on a sticker on the bottom of the bottle.
No consumers have reported any injuries or incidents, but the CPSC recommended that customers immediately stop using the water bottles and contact L.L. Bean for a full refund.
