While many of us may be clinking glasses for all things that come with the beginning of October—pumpkins, scarecrows, haunted houses and scary movies—we couldn’t help but get sidetracked when Johnnie Walker announced its new Game of Thrones whisky, called “White Walker.” In collaboration with HBO, Johnnie Walker created the limited edition bottle to celebrate the show’s final season, set to start in 2019. Fall may be here, but winter is definitely coming.

“This limited-edition Scotch Whisky is inspired by the most enigmatic and feared characters on the hit show—the White Walkers—and is being released for fans to enjoy as anticipation builds ahead of the final season,” Diageo, the owner of Johnnie Walker, said in a press release.
The whisky blend includes flavor notes of caramelized sugar, vanilla and fresh red berries, and is best served cold, as mentioned on the Johnnie Walker website. End-users who follow directions will see a special message on the bottle, thanks to the bottle’s “temperature-sensitive ink technology,” which reveals a chilling “Winter is Here” message.
While we still have to wait a few (yet long) months before the final season airs, end-users can at least get their hands on this collection before it’s completely sold out.
One Twitter user commented, “this is the collaboration we never knew we needed.”

But wait, there’s more! This is just the first part of the HBO Game of Thrones partnership. “The collection features eight scotches that are each paired with one of the iconic Houses of Westeros and the Night’s Watch, giving fans an authentic taste of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond,” the press release also detailed. Considering the design elements of the first exclusive bottle, we’re curious to see what’s to come.

Previously, Diageo created the “Jane Walker” limited edition bottle, which led to some negative responses. Jane Walker was supposed to appeal to a female audience but caused a lot of backlash instead. Unlike the Jane Walker design, the White Walker has been a unique addition for plenty of whisky connoisseurs, especially the ones that double as GoT fans. (Above the age of 21, that is.)
