HumphreyLine Passes Independent Compliance Test, Returns Laid-Off Workers

HumphreyLine, based in Florence, Ky. announced independent testing was recently completed and found the company was 100 percent proposition 65 compliant, 100 percent Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) compliant and 100 percent compliant (by audit) with all relevant FDA regulations.

According to company president Mel Ellis, “The compliance testing is part of the movement toward product safety, which we believe is one of the most important issues facing our industry.”

Ellis added, “End-buyers are rightly concerned about the risk of using contaminated/unsafe products in their promotions, and having it blow up on them. The whole risk/reward of using promotional products has changed for many firms, especially those with valuable consumer brand equity. ‘

Ellis continued, “Our view is that our industry has an opportunity to offer a real service to our end-buyer by offering a safe product option. Ideally, we would like to see a sort of ‘Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval’ for those products in our industry that have been fully tested for compliance with the various standards out there, including Prop 65, HR 4040/Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, and all applicable FDA regulations.”

In addition to the company’s compliance announcements, Ellis also said the company has essentially reversed recent layoffs and rehired all employees who desired to return to HumphreyLine.

“We are pleased that our business has strengthened sufficiently that we have recalled all of those folks who were laid off last fall,” explained Ellis. “Two of them took other jobs, and three others chose not to take the work we offered, but we are once again fully staffed and have actually added several temps to cover our capacity needs.”
