It Looks Like Disney Rushed the Baby Yoda Merchandise

Baby Yoda is still dominating the corners of the internet that appreciate cuteness. It’s stolen the show on Disney+ streaming series “The Mandalorian,” and has even infiltrated the meme world, which is the one of the biggest indicators of prolonged success in the 21st Century. Another big indicator is merchandise. While the show’s creator Jon Favreau said that there wasn’t any Baby Yoda merchandise leading up to the show’s release to avoid spoilers, we’re fully immersed in Baby Yoda World now, so it’s pretty much fair game.

The official Star Wars website rolled out Baby Yoda merchandise—using its official name of “The Child”—and it was met with luke(Skywalker)warm reviews.

It’s just one concept art design used on your standard assortment of T-shirts, tote bags, smartphone cases and drinkware. It hardly sated the internet’s rabid craving for all things Baby Yoda (sorry, The Child).

Thankfully, that’s not all we’re getting. But, it’s all we have for the time being.

Newsweek reported that Baby Yoda Funko Pop figurines leaked on the internet, and a plush figurine was listed for pre-sale briefly on Walmart’s website before it was taken down.

Until the full haul of Baby Yoda (ugh, The Child) merchandise rolls out sometime likely after Christmas, Disney is trying to give everyone the next best thing by focusing on regular, old, adult Yoda with a full display at Keystone Clothiers in Hollywood Studios.

It’s not the same, and hopefully no parent tries to pass this off as Baby Yoda for the holidays. But, it’s what we’ll have to settle for now.
