J. America Inc. is pleased to have been named along with Fanatics as The Ohio State University’s licensed apparel and retail partner under an exclusive apparel, headwear and retail model. Since its founding 20 years ago, J. America has grown to become one of the largest custom decorated apparel companies in the United States. While the company already enjoys a relationship with The Ohio State University as an apparel licensee, this new agreement gives it an opportunity to make a larger impact on The Ohio State University, the Columbus community and fair labor enforcement around the world. Beyond the financial benefits to the university, J. America’s plans to establish a new campus-based design center and showroom will create 14 new jobs with an estimated payroll of $1.3 million annually. At the same time, the company will expand its Ohio supply chain, including contracts with:
– Decorators
– Distributors
– Blank goods suppliers
– Sales and sales support personnel
– Packaging suppliers
– Corrugation suppliers
– Freight and trucking services
– Catalog and offset printing services
– Insurance services
In all, J. America expects this agreement to result in incremental Ohio-based payroll and contract services of nearly $7 million. Like The Ohio State University, J. America is a member of the Fair Labor Association, a collaborative effort of socially responsible companies, colleges and universities, and civil society organizations created to end abusive labor practices around the world.
The company released this statement on the partnership: We look forward to our enhanced relationship with The Ohio State University; to an expanded role in providing Ohio State fans, friends and alumni with superior apparel products; and to joining the Columbus community as an active corporate citizen.
