Christmas came early this year for basketball fans. The NBA has debuted the new and improved uniforms for the Christmas games. ESPN reported that the uniforms use a holiday card theme, with loopy script on the front and heavy use of a cream color (they’re calling it “greige”) that is reminiscent of old parchment.
Continuing with the theme, the uniforms will also feature what Uni-Watch called “glazed sugar ornamental shiny surfaces” on the fabric and trim.
The classic NBA logo is also getting a holiday card-themed upgrade, with a design modeled after a wax seal. Many of the uniforms also work off of team’s current uniform designs, such as the Portland Trail Blazer’s two-tone stripe, Orlando’s pinstripe design, and Washington’s two-color design.
Because the uniforms incorporate current team designs, a few teams (such as Philadelphia and Milwaukee) haven’t released their Christmas uniforms yet, as they are waiting to show off new regular season uniforms and don’t want to spoil the surprise.
