Netflix’s branded merchandise effort has been wide-ranging across its shows and movies. But there’s perhaps no greater cash cow on the streaming service than “Stranger Things.”
While fans wait for the next season, Netflix wants to keep the show top-of-mind. What better way to do that than a totally immersive store, complete with all of the retro arcade vibes and spooky laboratory? According to the Stranger Things store website, there’s even a chance that shoppers will run into the Demogorgon monster.

There’s all kinds of branded merchandise for fans at the two locations in New York and Los Angeles, but perhaps the standout is that there will be customizable apparel, where customers can personalize their purchases.
Buyers can also get printed products like Stranger Things Cereal from General Mills, which comes in ‘80s-style boxes.
Apparently tomorrow is “Stranger Things Day,” too. So Netflix is using that opportunity to partner with a French cosmetics brand for a tribute to ‘80s fashion and lifestyle goods.
Netflix has been working to market all of their intellectual properties, but this might be the most all-out they’ve gone. Fans love these sorts of immersive experiences, and they typically don’t leave empty handed, whether that’s from buying something or being given gifts.
It’s a little bit like the drive-through event Wendy’s did with “Rick and Morty.” Fans want more than just a sign or a T-shirt cannon, at least when it’s in relation to a show with such a rich universe.
No one will ever get mad that you went the extra mile.
