Distributor Newton Manufacturing Co., Newton, Iowa, hosted its Star Supplier Open House and Awards Ceremony last month.
Employees and suppliers gathered at Newton’s office for a luncheon where Newton recognized six suppliers.
Dustin Wicks of Bic Graphic, Clearwater, Fla., received Supplier Representative of the Year for going above and beyond; proactively offering ideas; and providing education and promotions for Newton’s sales reps.
“Dustin has consistently delivered for our representatives over the past year,” Molly Beavers, Newton’s senior marketing manager, said. “We are excited to recognize his hard work. The votes were unanimous, as he delivered on all areas.”
Newton chose two Supplier Customer Service Representatives of the Year — Nicole Nary of Hub Pen Company, Braintree, Mass., and Wilma Stacey of SanMar, Issaquah, Wash. — for providing consistent and friendly service as well as timely responses.
Newton categorized its preferred suppliers into four sales categories based on overall sales value. Upon review of product quality, timely service, marketing efforts, sales volume and ability to provide Newton with unique sales advantages, its employed rated the top four suppliers in each sales category. Its Star Suppliers for 2013 included Seville Corporation, McFarland, Wisc., (Shining Star), Gill Studios Inc., Lenexa Kan., (Stellar Star), Leed’s, New Kensington, Pa., (Super Star) and SanMar (Mega Star).
“Each of these suppliers has demonstrated tremendous value and excellent service to Newton Manufacturing and our representatives over the past year,” Beavers said. “We are very appreciative and proud of the outstanding efforts of all our supplier friends who won in their categories.”
