Our 5 Favorite Promotional Products of the Week: Hiking Journals, ’90s Comebacks and More

A lot of podcasts have merchandise. We’ve been thinking about what we would make if we wanted to start creating merchandise for the Promo Marketing Podcast. Maybe a branded box of Cheez-Its or Oreos, given the fact that Sean and Brendan are always talking about them. Maybe a film camera stress ball, since the guys are always threatening to turn the show into a movie podcast instead.

While we think about how we would best represent the most fun podcast in the promotional products industry, here are five other products from around the biz that grabbed our attention.

1. Dunkaroos ‘Digital Fashion’

The self-proclaimed “favorite ‘90s snack” is back, and it brought some real-life merchandise for its resurgence. But, since Dunkaroos returned in the digital age, it also created some stuff for the internet, like this extremely ‘90s outfit.

2. Sunny D Sweatshirt

Speaking of childhood favorites, what Millennial can forget Sunny D? After fans demanded that the drink brand make some merchandise (with some even saying they’d get the logo tattooed on their bodies in exchange for a sweatshirt), Sunny D dropped an official line of limited edition apparel.

3. NBC ‘La Brea’ Kit

OK, to be completely honest with you, we haven’t watched “La Brea” yet. But, from what we can gather from the trailers, some people fall into a sinkhole in the La Brea Tar Pits and get transported back in time. Some of these products look like they tie in with the show, and the trail mix should be good for snacking on while viewers wait for the woolly mammoths to show up.

4. AllTrails x Field Notes Notebooks

AllTrails is possibly the most helpful app in a hiker’s smartphone. You can download hiking trail maps, read reviews and share photos from previous excursions. We can remember more than one time we’ve relied on the app to let us know that we’re still on the right track to get to the end. This notepad is a good tactile way to keep notes, too, or even just doodle your view.

5. ‘Carolina Hurricanes’ Apparel

Sports fans whose teams relocated are justified in their bitterness. We don’t know what we’d do if the Eagles ever left Philly. Hartford Whalers fans who still feel some kind of way about the team’s relocation to North Carolina can still rep their history with some fun team gear.
