Pantone announced Greenery as the 2017 Color of the Year.

Unlike last year, the Pantone Color Institute managed to settle on one color of the year for 2017—Greenery.

“Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew,” the company said on its website. “Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributers of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, added that the “life-affirming shade” provides a necessary reassurance after a “tumultuous” 2016.

“Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose,” she said.
