Playtex is recalling its children’s plates and bowls after receiving reports of the items’ clear plastic layers peeling and bubbling, posing a choking hazard.
According to the CPSC, Playtex has received 372 reports of the plastic layers on the items bubbling over and peeling, and has received 11 reports of parents finding pieces of the plastic in children’s mouths. Of those 11 reports, four included children choking on a piece of the plastic layer.
The items were sold at various retail stores, like Babies “R” Us, Target and Walmart, and were sold online on Amazon from October 2009 to October 2017.
The CPSC advised customers to immediately stop using the items, take them away from young children, and contact Playtex for a full refund.
