Wine Bottling, Clay Shooting and Big-Time Business: Recapping Power House Power Meeting 2018

Last year’s Power House Power Meeting, Promo Marketing’s first-ever Power Meeting exclusively for top-selling distributors, featured beautiful desert vistas, real-deal rock climbing and one extremely good dog. It went so well, we decided to do it again! And while this year’s Power House event, held in Phoenix, was sorely lacking in the adorable pups department, it more than made up for it everywhere else.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to make it out, here’s what you missed:

Leisure Time

We know travel is exhausting. So, on arrival day, we thought it best to relax a bit before jumping into one-on-one supplier meetings. And what better way to relax than with a massage session or a wine bottling excursion?

Our own Marc Held, president of Promo Marketing, had a good rundown of day one’s laid-back vibes.

“The attendees were tired from their day at the spa and winery,” he laughed. “Seriously, the first day was great. Everyone arrived and had plenty of time to unwind. The opening reception was in the pool area, and it was very nice—low key. Someone heard I liked sushi, so there were unlimited California rolls. What a way to kick off the event!”

The Great Outdoors

We would be remiss if we hosted a spring Power Meeting in Arizona and didn’t load it up with fun outdoor networking activities for supplier and distributor attendees. On day two, after breakfast and a productive four-hour meeting session, we sent the Power House crew out for their choice of golf, hiking or clay shooting.

John McNerney, Central Texas senior account executive for American Solutions for Business, was a fan.

“The Power House event exceeded all expectations,” he said. “It was well organized, had excellent vendor representation and added an extra touch by incorporating afternoon activities between the vendors and the distributors to get to know each other on a personal level. I have already placed orders for the new ideas that were presented only a few days ago.”

Serious Business

We always get great feedback from attendees on the networking activities, but the real draw of Power Meetings is the way they boost business for the promotional products companies involved. And Power House Power Meeting was all about the business, as suppliers and top-level distributors forged new relationships, strengthened existing ones and collaborated to knock projects out of the park.

Attendees raved about the two meetings sessions and the event overall.

“The Power House Power Meeting event is a highly effective and important event for our company,” said Nick Lateur, national sales manager for AP Specialties. “It provides the opportunity to build new and lasting relationships with elite distributors. There is a perfect balance of meetings and networking, and I would highly recommend it to all suppliers.”

Dave Glaser, vice president of field sales for The Magnet Group, offered similar praise—and saw similar results.

“Stacey, Vicky, Megan, Marc, Rob and the rest of the team are the reason The Magnet Group comes back to Promo Marketing Power Meetings every year,” he said. “They take feedback from suppliers and distributors and make the proper accommodations to make these events elite. We always feel taken care of and know that our needs are their No. 1 concern. We work hard, play hard and see the results in sales!”
