Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), the promotional product industry’s not-for-profit association, reported that its fourth annual Legislation Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D.) in Washington was a success.
PPAI’s L.E.A.D., held this year on April 10 and 11, brought nearly 70 promotional products professionals to the nations capital to meet with legislators and discuss the impact of laws and regulations on the premiums and incentives industry. With representatives from 49 states, suppliers and distributors held almost 300 meetings with congressmen and their staff members, covering topics such as product safety, taxation and independent contractors.
In addition to meeting with several members of congress during the two-day event, PPAI named Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.) as the PPAI 2013 Legislator of the Year. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) also spoke with L.E.A.D. participants about the importance of small business during a group dinner.
The next PPAI L.E.A.D. event is expected to take place in April 2014. Coverage of this year’s event is available at PPB Newslink. For more information about L.E.A.D., visit PPAI Law’s website.
