In a joint statement today, Robert Schwarz, CAS, president of the Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY), based in Montvale, N.J., and Stanley Breckenridge, MAS, chair of the Irving, Texas-based Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) announced the two companies have mutually agreed to terminate their collaborative management agreement for the annual June SAAGNY Promotions East trade show in Atlantic City, N.J.
Schwarz said, “Our boards entered into an agreement in 2005 for PPAI to provide a major part of the management services required to produce Promotions East. Our goal has been met and PPAI provided a high level of service for our events in 2006, 2007 and 2008.” He added, “We are grateful for its involvement in the show and thank the PPAI staff and board for their continuing support of SAAGNY. We look forward to working with them on mutually beneficial projects in the coming months and years.”
SAAGNY’s chair Breckenridge said, “As nonprofit organizations, PPAI, SAAGNY and the other co-sponsors of Promotions East share a vision and philosophy to work for the good of the industry and our members. We are pleased that we accomplished our goals of delivering education, networking and sales opportunities for all of our members.” Breckenridge concluded, “Moving forward, we remain invested in each other’s success and clearly, given our long history of partnership, we continue to look for ways to cooperate and deliver ever greater value to all of our members.”
Steve Slagle, CAE, president and CEO of PPAI added, “PPAI and SAAGNY have put programs and systems in place that will allow SAAGNY to move forward on its own in delivering a positive show experience. We look forward to ongoing participation in Promotions East and wish SAAGNY and all the co-sponsors of the show continued success.”
Schwarz concluded, “The SAAGNY Board of Directors felt that it was time for us to resume our responsibility for Promotions East. We have formed a new, dynamic committee that will guide the production of the 2009 show. The industry can be assured that SAAGNY will continue to produce the best show in the Northeast.”
