Promotions From the Campaign Trail

During the last few weeks, presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Rand Paul have officially announced their candidacies for the 2016 election. With these announcements, promotional products for each candidate are starting to show up online. In addition to the usual signs, T-shirts, buttons and stickers, here is some of the more interesting campaign memorabilia that we’ve seen so far.

Readyforhillary.com, a pro-Clinton website, has items in its store not only for the people supporting Clinton, but their pets as well. Supporters can find “Ready for Hillary” cat collars, dog leashes and dog hoodies. Last time we checked, however, animals were not allowed to vote.

Supporters can also decorate their cellphones with a “Ready for Hillary” smartphone case, which shows Clinton using her own phone.

One of the other candidates to announce his intentions to run was Sen. Rand Paul. On his campaign store page, supporters can find the usual items such as apparel and posters, but there are plenty of imaginative and original promotions as well. Referencing Paul’s medical degree, Paul supporters can get a poster modeled off of an eye exam chart. The site also has a Rand Paul bag toss game, sandals and an “NSA spy cam blocker,” which slides over a user’s laptop camera.

In the months leading up to the primaries, there will certainly be more interesting items for voters to show their support.
