Raining Rose President and CEO Receives Excellence in Business Award

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance announced Chuck Hammond, president and CEO of Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Raining Rose Inc., as the recipient of the 2016 Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award.

Hammond will receive the award and provide acceptance remarks during the Economic Alliance’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the U.S. Cellular Convention Center in downtown Cedar Rapids.

“Chuck’s entrepreneurial spirit and leadership has produced the kind of exponential growth in a company that makes a real and noticeable difference to the regional economy,” said Doug Neumann, Interim president and CEO of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. “It was apparent to the award selection committee that Chuck is a dynamic leader with a strong work ethic and positive energy. This award is much deserved.”

The Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award is given to a premier business leader who exemplifies the outstanding, enduring business values of Howard Hall (1894-1971) and his passion for a vibrant Cedar Rapids. Howard Hall was an industrialist and philanthropist who used his influence to create a better local economy and community. Hall was dedicated to the development of the region, and frequently worked behind the scenes to attract new businesses and jobs.
