Ramstar Mills, Sardis, Ga., which closed its doors in August after 36 years, will once again be up and running soon. The company has been purchased by Ruth and Bob Wielenga, who have been manufacturing safety apparel and other safety-related products for 12 years. The acquisition is expected to be completed by Sept., 29.
For the immediate future, Ramstar Mills’ product offering will remain the same, with the exception of the following: HydroWick Huggers and all cotton products are now offered at closeout prices of 50 percent off; and the 9800 vest and 9900 pants will be phased out.
The new owners intend on expanding the product offering of ANSI-compliant apparel, while continuing to provide high-quality, domestically-made, spun polyester microfiber wicking T-shirts. They also expect to add to the product offering by manufacturing cotton T-shirts again.
Ramstar Mills will exhibit at the PPAI Expo Las Vegas in January. Former owners Rick and Bobbi Feiertag retired and put the business up for sale.
