SAAC Hosts Dodgers-Giants Networking Event

The Specialty Advertising Association of California (SAAC), the Southern California region’s nonprofit association, recently hosted a Dodgers-Giants baseball game for its members. The event was sold out, SAAC members and their families packing the 100 loge section of the stadium, which is mid-level along the first-base line.

A tense battle between two of baseball’s oldest rivals, the game was tied 1-1 for most of the innings, both teams getting runners on bases repeatedly, yet failing to score. The stalemate broke in the 8th inning, when a hit from Dodger’s outfielder Yasiel Puig sent Nick Punto in to score. The Giants were not able to retaliate in the 9th, leaving the Dodgers to win the game 3-1.

“It was great,” said Nancy Phillips, executive director for SAAC. “It was an exciting game to the very end, it really was. Everybody hung in until the bitter end because it was tied until the bottom of the 8th, and then the Dodgers scored.”

Member turnout for the game was predictably high, tickets for the event selling out. “It was a great turnout,” said Phillips. “It was fun to see all the members with their families, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Check out the pictures on Facebook!”

The next game SAAC is hosting is another divisional battle, the Los Angeles Angels versus the Oakland Athletics, scheduled for September 23. As with the recent Dodgers-Giants game, tickets will be sold at a discount to SAAC members.

SAAC membership is required to attend the game. To become a SAAC member, contact the SAAC office or sign up at the 2013 SAAC Show at a special lower price. (Last year’s show special was $1, down from $125, for the 2013 year.) Members of SAAC also receive the following benefits:
