The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY), Montville, N.J., has announced its 2006-2007 Board of Directors. The term for the incoming officers and directors runs to Dec. 31, 2007.
The Executive Committee Officers for 2006-2007 are: Mike Schenker, president; Robert S. Schwarz, president elect; Jonathan Riegel, vice president; Brian Seltzer, treasurer; and Brett Schaffer, secretary. Outgoing president Lenore Goldberg automatically moves into the position of immediate past president.
Schenker, of Hilton Apparel Group, St. Louis, has served on the Board of Directors since 1997 and has held the offices of secretary, treasurer, vice president and president elect. Schenker has also served as chair of the Programs and Meeting, Education and Government and Legal Committees, as well as co-chair of PROMOTIONS EAST.
Schwarz, of Ad Source Marketing, has been on the SAAGNY Board since 2000 as a director, and has held the offices of secretary, treasurer and vice president. He has also served as chair of the Awards Committee and has been active on the PROMOTIONS EAST Committee for several years, serving as Chair of PROMOTIONS EAST 2007.
Riegel, of Concepts Unlimited, is also a long-time Board member previously serving as a director, secretary and treasurer. A 2003 SAAGNY Scholarship recipient, Riegel has been active on many committees, including Membership, Programs and Meetings and PROMOTIONS EAST. He was also instrumental in establishing the Capital Region and Next Generation committees.
Seltzer, of Premium Shapes, returned to the Board in 2005 as a director. He previously served in that capacity from 1992 to 1998 and as secretary for the term 1998-1999. He has served as chair of the Membership, Supplier, Group Purchasing and Government and Legal Committees.
Schaffer, of Soundline, Randolph, N.J., is one of the newest members of the Executive Committee. He served as a director from 2005-2006, and was the recipient of a 2004 SAAGNY Scholarship.
Directors returning to the Board are Geoffrey Patack, Tom Rondi and Paula Shulman. New to the Board are Alan Baker, Marion Contursi, Mike Leone and David Verchere. Walter C. Schatz, executive director, continues to serve as a director.
