Seattle’s Would-be Super Bowl Merchandise

Super Bowl XLIX was one of the most exciting games in recent years. With only a tiny bit of space between the ball and the end zone, the Seahawks gave up a last minute goal-line interception, and the Patriots sealed the win. While a lot of fans probably thought that Seattle would cement its victory and put on victory T-shirts and hats, those apparel items celebrating the would-be back-to-back Super Bowl wins never saw the light of day. But SportsLogos.net has the report on the apparel and merchandise.
Given that the Seahawks won last year’s Super Bowl, much of the apparel that would have hit stores to celebrate a Seattle victory is “back-to-back” themed. Many T-shirts and sweatshirts have the Seahawks logo next to “Back 2 Back,” or “2-Time Super Bowl Champions.” Ouch. One particularly confident T-shirt message reads, “Play. Win. Repeat.” Other items include coffee mugs, street signs and clocks.
On the other side of the country, Patriots fans are no-doubt ecstatic, especially since it’s quarterback Tom Brady’s fourth Super Bowl victory. Merchandise celebrating Brady and the Patriot’s victory hit the stores. Some simply just has the team’s logo and a message commemorating the big win, while other items—such as T-shirts and sweatshirts with “Wicked Fourth” printed on the front—celebrate Brady’s fourth win. Another shirt has the Roman numerals of Brady’s four Super Bowl wins.
It could take a little time for Seattle fans to recover from the disappointment of last night, but New Englanders can bundle up in Patriots Super Bowl gear to make the wicked snowy winter a little better.
