Showdown Displays, Ramsey, Minn., a manufacturer and supplier of portable displays, signs and banners, was selected as one of this year’s best places to work by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The annual recognition program is in its 17th year, making it the longest-running evaluation of Minnesota’s top workplaces.
On Aug. 13, 65 companies were recognized at a cocktail awards reception in an airplane hangar at the St. Paul Downtown Airport. The companies were honored for creating and maintaining an engaging workplace environment. Showdown Displays (recognized as Sign-Zone Inc. at the event), was honored for the first time.
“This is perhaps the most meaningful award we’ve received,” said John Bruellman, president of Showdown Displays. “It reflects the fact that our employees are engaged, passionate and energetic. It is an honor to be part of such a dedicated group.”
Out of 200 company nominations, 149 qualified for consideration, and were required to complete a survey. Employees were asked to rate their company on a variety of topics, including work environment, people practices and personal growth and development. The scores from the survey determined the honorees.
