Sunscope Announces Formation of Aprinta Group

Sunscope recently announced that it has closed a transaction with Russell Brands LLC to acquire its Alexander City, Ala.-based garment decoration plants and support facilities. In addition, Sunscope has also announced the formation of the Aprinta Group, which will include the Aprinta Apparel Division and the Aprinta Promo Division.

The deal includes taking over the existing decorating business for Russell that is operated out of the facilities. The group has acquired approximately 600,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing in five buildings. Aprinta has offered all of the employees in the plants a position with the newly formed company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. This state-of-the-art manufacturing footprint will allow Aprinta to have a unique advantage in the decorated apparel wholesale market with its fantastic workforce, location and state of the art manufacturing.

“The acquisition of these facilities, paired with the skills of the people who work in them make Alexander City an excellent growth opportunity for Aprinta,” Dilip Bhavnani, managing partner for Sunscope and Aprinta Group, said.

The acquisition of this new campus comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that top 40 supplier Sunscope had reached an agreement with Capital Supply Group to manage some of the industries’ top brands. The newly formed Aprinta Promo Division will run the legacy brands Adva-Lite, Dart Business Accessories, Drinx, Falcon Promotional Products, It’s All Greek to Me, StyleWrite and Toppers.

Aprinta Group will initially run independently from Sunscope’s current business which focuses on large global custom manufacturing and importing, but together harmoniously covers the total spectrum of promotional products and order types. The operations of the legacy brands will be moving from the former Camsing Global headquarters in Largo, Fla. to the Alexander City, Alabama facilities. In addition, a new administrative office will open in Florida and will also utilize Sunscope’s West Coast operation to have both the East and West Coast decorating plants. Former CEO of Camsing Global Billy Dolan and his management team including Keith Olivit, Eileen Gunia and several other top executives, sales, marketing, customer service and additional office support staff have been hired by the Aprinta Group to run this new business.

“This is a great opportunity to enter the wholesale domestic apparel market and find a great ownership group like Dilip and his family,” Billy Dolan, CEO for Aprinta Group, said. “It is a very exciting day for the legacy brands as it was the right time to get owners that could properly finance the business and most importantly understand the history of the brands and what it would take to build them into the biggest and best in the industry again. Being able to offer both decorated apparel and promotional products on both coasts will create a truly new transformational company with significant synergies to our partner distributors.”

“I am very excited about the potential that comes with these history rich brands, and believe in the management team that was running them for Camsing Global,” Bhavnani said in a statement. “They signed up for a very tough task when they acquired these businesses and I was most impressed with what they have been able to do with the resources that they had and glad they are joining Aprinta. Our decisions for investment were based around the vision, people and history of the brands, which we believe will flourish with the proper structure and financial support. In addition, these brands fit seamlessly with our current infrastructure and global manufacturing footprint that will allow us to maintain deep inventory and develop exciting new products that has been their hallmark for years.”

Further announcements concerning the Aprinta Group will be released soon. Until then, the company asks that you continue to use the temporary toll free number, 855-606-3079, or email at [email protected] to reach them.
