The 8AM Invitational Gift Bag Blends Golf Tournament and Hollywood Party

The 8AM Golf Invitational isn’t like other professional golf events. For starters, it’s hosted by Justin Timberlake. The annual tournament places some of the biggest names in pop culture on the Wynn Las Vegas links, and, being that it’s such a star-studded event, you can imagine that the gift suite is pretty solid.

Because much like other events attended by the beautiful people, the 8AM Invitational has a themed gift bag that combines golf (obviously) with fashion and beyond.

Thanks to Golf Magazine, we can take a peek of what’s inside, and see how it fits into the larger trend of golf products right now.

There are your standard products that players use on the course, like a putter, TaylorMade golf balls, a glove, and a club head cover.

For fashion both on the course and off, there’s a hoodie from Greyson, a Tremont cap, a Reigning Champ Cabin Fleece Hooded Robe, socks, a bucket hat, an L.E.N. leather belt, Oakley sunglasses, Lusso slippers, and Nike Air Max 1 OG G golf shoes.

Now, for some of the fun stuff that really has nothing to do with golf on the surface, but still ties in:

  • Blue Tees Player+ GPS Golf Speaker: It’s sort of a Frankenstein combination of a device that players use to analyze the course and their performance, while they listen to their favorite tunes. (Personally, I like yacht rock while I’m on the course. Keeps the blood pressure low.)
  • TUMI luggage: For when you’re traveling from event to event.
  • Ombre Hair Care and Liquid Scissors Hair Care products: Not all of us want to wear hats on the course, right?
  • OWYN Protein Shakes: Ever since Tiger, golfers are increasingly into the idea of bulking up a little.
  • Therabody Recovery Therm Cube: That golf swing doesn’t get easier as you get older.
  • Yeti Rambler 42 oz. Straw Mug: Drinkware products need to be huge now. Yeti is still one of the biggest names in drinkware, but it’s clearly taking its inspiration from another company in the space right now.
  • Bask skincare: Four hours (plus extracurriculars) in the sun adds up.
  • Sky MD Hydration: It’s hard to focus on reading a green when your brain is a raisin.
  • Rapport London Portobello Watch Pouch: This one’s fun, because it’s not the watch. It’s the watch pouch. It elevates any watch to become a luxury product, and fits nicely in a golf bag or backpack.
  • WHOOP: Even if it’s meant to be a leisure activity, you can still monitor your vitals and health while you’re golfing.
  • Dewar Whisky: For after (or during—whatever works for you).

So what does all of this mean for your own golf promos? Well, while you might not have to appeal to A-list celebrities with your gifts, you should still consider each person and think about what they want out of the experience. And remember, the experience isn’t just on the golf course. This includes everything before, during, and after the event to make sure they have a lasting memory. Golf products are a must, since that’s the primary focus of the giveaway, but supplementing with complementary products like wellness products, apparel that works on the course and off, and maybe even some food and beverages, goes a long way.
