Tips of the Trade: If you have sticky notes everywhere…

By Ilise Benun, marketing mentor

I’d be dead without my lists. There are so many distractions over the course of a day, I often forget what the heck I’m supposed to be working on. (Can you relate?)

Until recently, I had sticky notes all over my calendar, computer and desk to remind me.

But then, I discovered Ta-da lists. It’s a simple, Web-based software that basically serves as a big bucket for all the lists I want to keep—all in one place. I just keep the browser window open all day with my lists in my face to make sure I stay on task.

As my priorities shift, I can drag something from the bottom to the top of a list. When a thought occurs, I can simply add that idea to its appropriate list and get back to work, secure in the knowledge that the idea will be there when I’m ready to act on it.

And when I finish a task, I check it off, which is incredibly satisfying—better than chocolate.

Best of all, it’s free.

So, if you want a handy way to keep your own post-its and ideas organized, open a Ta-Da list for yourself here: www.tadalist.com/?ref=public.

And for a peek under the hood of my business, check out my list of lists on the blog: www.marketingmixblog.com/blog/2007/08/lists-101-get-r.html

That’s it for today!
