Universal Unilink, Greenville, S.C., announced that it partnered with its suppliers to create sample boxes, which the company will send to all distributor members in good standing.
Each sample box consisted of 20 products from 17 different suppliers. For many suppliers, this was an opportunity to showcase products with deep inventory or products geared toward the holiday season. For Universal Unilink members, this was an opportunity to taste, touch and see products from each supplier.
The promotional product industry, like many other industries, has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many distributors and suppliers have opted out of the traditional trade shows and in-person meetings to ensure the safety of their staff. Universal Unilink wanted to give its suppliers a chance to present featured products to their members in a way that would keep everyone safe and increase fourth-quarter sales.
The sample boxes included contributions from Morris Magnet, CAFCO, Tekweld, Newell/Sanford, Navitor, Lanco/Chocolate Inn, Koozie Group, High Caliber Line, Webb Company (now Mixie), Handstands, Hub Brands, Beacon, Best, BCG, Bel Promo, Bag Makers Inc., Anico and Augusta Sportswear.
Products varied from writing instruments to apparel, drinkware and even jellybeans. The boxes gave members the samples they would receive at a show shipped directly to their homes.
