The United States Postal Service (USPS) rolled out its “Informed Delivery” service that allowed people to see exactly what will be in their mailbox when they get home. Originally, the USPS implemented it in major cities, like New York and Washington, D.C., but now plans to expand the service further.
Beginning April 14, the Informed Delivery service will be available nationwide, according to NBC 5. The service is free, and users can sign up to receive an email every day with black and white images of the front of letters and cards set for delivery.
This way, users can know what to expect when they get home, or they can alert their housemates when they’re expecting something important. It also can help people know if pieces of mail are missing.
Currently, the service is not available for mail delivered to P.O. boxes, however.
