Washington Nationals Calendar Features Boston’s Ballpark

When the Washington Nationals debuted their 2016 calendar, there was a bit of an elephant in the room about the cover. (Well, in this case it’s more of a Green Monster in the room.) The calendar features the Red Sox’s Fenway Park.

Unfortunately, Fenway’s famous ballpark wall isn’t just the photo for a single month. According to Fox Sports, the picture is on the cover.

Major League Baseball issued a statement on the mistake, placing the blame on the licensee, rather than the Nationals.

“Our licensee used an incorrect photo in its 2016 Nationals calendar, a product that the Nationals were not involved in producing,” the statement said. “We are working quickly to rectify the situation including recalling the calendars from retail.”

The mistake is somewhat understandable, since the Washington Nationals are on the field at Fenway. But the photo has the caption “Nationals Park, Washington, D.C.”

NPR digital news editor (and self-proclaimed Nats fan) tweeted about the mistake.

This wasn’t the only recent MLB calendar mistake. Paul Lukas, known as @UniWatch on Twitter, posted a New York Mets calendar that billed pitcher Jacob deGrom as Jason deGrom.
