Pillbox’s Dan Watson Talks About the Power of a Referral and Baseball Bats as Art

Dan Watson, one of the co-founders of Pillbox Bat Company, joins Brendan on the podcast today to talk about the company’s expansion into all 30 Major League Baseball ballparks, with licensing agreements across the league. After starting with their hometown Minnesota Twins for a commemorative bat, the relationship grew. Eventually, the team’s president personally sent recommendation letters to other franchises, and Pillbox’s MLB footprint grew.

Dan and Brendan talk about the power of a referral, but also using items like a baseball bat and pennant as an artistic medium, not just a place for a logo. The products can appeal to a larger audience than just baseball teams and sports fans using a wide variety of sports-influenced products, but not limiting itself to a certain audience.
