Counselor Top 40 distributor HALO Branded Solutions (asi/356000) has issued a recall for approximately 60,000 tumblers with metal straws. The recall comes after four reports of lacerations to the hand and mouth.

The tumblers were sold exclusively at Wawa, a popular convenience store and gas station on the East Coast. The 24-ounce reusable plastic tumblers, which came in four styles and are branded with the Wawa logo, were sold in August in several states, including Alabama, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.

HALO issued the voluntary recall in collaboration with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. “We prioritize the safety of consumers,” said HALO in a statement released to ASI Media. “HALO has already recovered or disposed of the remaining 55,000 units manufactured. We believe in transparency and swift resolution of any concerns related to our products, upholding the trust our clients place in us to represent their brand.”

Regarding the recall, HALO is urging consumers to immediately stop using the metal straws and contact the company for a free replacement silicone straw. Consumers who prefer not to keep the tumbler can return both the tumbler and the metal straw to receive a $15 gift card as a refund. HALO will provide prepaid shipping labels for the return of the recalled items.

HALO lists One World Trade Inc. as the importer of the product and indicates the product was manufactured in China. Consumers can contact HALO by phone, email or visit the distributor’s safety recall page online for more information.
