100 days have passed since the devastating deluge of oil began to leak into the Gulf. 100 days of morning for the families who lost loved ones in the explosion, 100 days of suffering for the wildlife fighting for survival in the waters and on the beaches that serve as their home and 100 days of economic decline to a region that has been battling to stay afloat since hurricane Katrina. How is it that a company can be allowed to drill for oil, when they don’t know how to fix a well if a leak arises?
I’d like to believe that this would be enough for businesses to make the move towards environmental responsibility, even if they are the smallest of changes. Yes, cash is king, but who will be here to spend it when there is nothing left?
