Hub Pen Company, Braintree, Mass., hired two new employees and promoted another worker recently.
Hub named Glenn Walker its Web systems administrator and Madelyn Voong as human resources coordinator while Vickie Freeman was promoted to customer service representative.
Walker previously managed a small Web team that was responsible for eight e-commerce websites at Specialty Commerce Corp. He also ran his own website design and development firm, Firefly Technologies Corp., for six years.
“We are very excited to welcome Glenn to the Hub Pen family,” Joseph Fleming, Hub’s president, said. “He will be a valuable addition to the staff as we continue improving our website and daily operating systems.”
“Hub has made significant investments in technology; particularly Web-based systems to advance the business. It’s exciting to be a part of that,” Walker added.
Voong, who has a bachelor’s degree in management from Emmanuel College, will handle assisting with employee compensation, benefits, training and talent acquisition. Prior to joining Hub, she worked as a compensation and benefits coordinator in the health care industry.
“As we continue to expand, Madelyn will be a crucial member of our team,” Simone Coffran, Hub’s accounting manager, said. “We look forward to the contributions she will bring to Hub Pen.”
“I am excited to become part of a growing organization,” Voong added.
Freeman, who started at Hub in 2012, will be responsible for ensuring customers’ orders are processed quickly and efficiently. She will cover key accounts as well as those in Missouri and New Jersey. She has prior customer service experience from when she worked at an upscale fashion retailer.
“I love working here at Hub,” she said. “The people are a lot of fun and the customers have been really nice. I’m looking forward to working with you.”
