PROMOTIONS EAST 2009, Atlantic City, N.J., enjoyed another successful day of exhibits on Wednesday, June 3. After day two attendence exceeded 2008 totals, the final day of the show did not disappoint. With distributors taking part in a “Walk It To Win It” promotion sponsored by Jetline, Yonkers, N.Y., attendance numbers remained strong.
Reactions from suppliers exhibiting at the show illustrated the show’s success.
Mel Ellis, president of Florence, Kentucky-based HumphreyLine, said, “Great show. Our booth was as active as I’ve ever seen it.” Jim Moore, senior vice president of sales and marketing of Willmar, Minnesota-based Molenaar, added “Best SAAGNY show in 10 years.”
New suppliers were also given an active show floor to promote their prodcuts. “The PROMOTIONS EAST show was a great opportunity for us to brand Fluppy Puppy as the place to go for custom dog tags and bottle openers,” said Alec Parsons, director of sales and marketing for Mt. Vernon, New York-based Fluppy Puppy. “It’s a fantastic show for networking and we’ll definitely take of advantage of it next year.”
According to Jonathan Riegel, president of the Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY), which hosted the show, “We are thrilled with this year’s show. Our partner, Promo Marketing, did a tremendous job of driving distributor attendence for an exceptional base of supplier exhibitors.” Riegel concluded, “We look forward to PROMOTIONS EAST 2010 and beyond.”
Tuesday’s show was capped off by the “Golden Ticket Giveaway” promotion and the Atrium Reception. Suzie Fenlator of MSI Inc. took home the Golden Ticket grand prize of $2,500, and countless others enjoyed food and beverages to the sounds of the evening’s band, the 1910 Fruit Gum Company. Wednesday’s show also ended on a positive note with Alan Bernstein of Axiom Promotions taking home the $2,000 Walk It To Win It prize.
