Last week, we reported that Dunkin’ Donuts recalled three tumblers imported by Moderne Glass/Glass America.
Tom McKnight, owner of Moderne Glass/Glass America, released a statement following the recall’s announcement:
It is very important for everyone to know these custom glass tumblers are not part of the Moderne Glass line and have never been offered to the promotional products industry by us. Moderne Glass did not manufacture or design this product, but arranged for the manufacture of the double wall glass tumbler by a reputable, well-known glass manufacturer in China, pursuant to the specifications and design it received from the distributor and Dunkin’ Donuts.
The tumblers passed all UL tests and standards required by the distributor and Dunkin’ Donuts. Dunkin’ Donuts voluntarily issued a recall of the product.
Moderne Glass has and continues to fully cooperate with the CPSC, the distributor, and Dunkin’ Donuts regarding this situation.
