Some days, these intros just flow, and we have to edit ourselves from going hundreds of words too long. Other days it feels like forced small talk, like if your normal barber is gone and you have to get to know the new guy. “So, do you … like baseball?”
Everyone just assumes that, because we do this for a living, these things are easy to write. Sure, we make it look easy, but it’s not as easy as you might think.
Now, when it comes to spotting good promos, that’s always easy. And you’re in luck, because we have a nice batch here for this week.
1. Retro ‘WandaVision’ Merchandise
Some of us still aren’t fully up-to-date on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From everything we’ve seen from trailers, it seems like this new Disney+ Marvel show takes place in the past. So, this retro theme for merchandise is a nice little touch.
2. Dunkin’ Reusable Cold Cups

Simplicity is the star of the show with these cups, produced by BAMKO for Dunkin’. The donuts-and-coffee chain has traditionally relied on all-over prints and flashy graphics for its cups, so this is a refreshing departure.
3. GQ Logo T-shirt
While we’re on that simplicity and minimalism kick, we have to mention this shirt for sale by GQ. The logo almost blends in with the fabric, but pops just enough thanks to the texture of the decoration.
4. New ‘Up’ Merchandise
It’s been a few years since we first had our still-beating hearts ripped out of our chests Temple of Doom-style by the fist 10 minutes of Pixar’s “Up.” We almost got over it, too, but Disney just had to pick at that scab by releasing new merchandise, like a “Paradise Falls” change jug or Russell’s bottle cap pin. They even hit us in the feels with their merchandise! Damn you, Pixar!
5. Hello Donuts T-shirt
Hello Donuts is a great plant-based donut shop here in Philly, and its design here for this merchandise is adorable. Look at that guy run! Is he running from people trying to eat him? Who can say? That’s not our business.
