There was some big news on the 2020 presidential election front yesterday, and as we inch closer to November, there will probably be plenty of fresh political merchandise to dissect in the coming weeks and months. We’ll devote plenty of time to that, as we always do. But, before all of that starts, let’s have some fun and enjoy the rest of the summer, eh?
This week’s Fave 5 includes custom jackets for mascots, retro/reboot movie merchandise, ingenious sneaker collaborations and more!
1. Phillie Phanatic’s Bryce Harper jacket

After Phillies right fielder Bryce Harper showed up to the ballpark in a custom jacket with a Phanatic-heavy liner, his biggest fan thought he’d return the favor. This is a friendship we can get behind. Now the Phanatic just needs to re-enact the coolest picture of any Phillies player ever.
2. Vans x ‘The Simpsons’ Shoes
Vans x The Simpsons UA Old Skool.
Featuring all the regulars at Moe’s bar on the side panels, this sneaker has a checkered under layer for details & ‘Moe’s’ writing on the back.

Vans has been crushing it with the brand partnerships, and the latest brings us to the little town of Springfield, USA. The whole line is awesome, but the subtle detail of the colored window panes as a checkerboard pattern is just *chef’s kiss*.
3. Disney Halloween Merchandise

It’s mind boggling that we’re already thinking about Halloween, but if the seasonal aisle of my local Rite Aid is any indication, people are getting ready for fall. Disney Parks is catering to those early birds with this line of spooky gear.
4. ‘Jumanji’ Keychains

The Rock-helmed “Jumanji” reboot is definitely a far cry from the original Robin Williams classic, but it’s still held onto some of the original fun. Using the physical game pieces for promos, despite the new movies being video game-focused, was a nice nod to the OG fans.
5. 76ers ‘Phila Unite’ 2020 Shirt
When the Sixers made the playoffs last year, they gave out shirts with these logos, and local businesses put stickers up in their windows. A year later, and in a much different playoff environment, most of those stickers are still in the windows, and it’s an awesome way for the city to feel connected to the team. We’re glad the Sixers are using that design again, but updating the shirt a little for 2020.
