After yesterday’s story about Forward Madison FC’s QR code jerseys, we’ve been thinking a lot about sports jerseys. The best ones, the worst ones, our favorites, what we’d change. They’re a special kind of promotional product because they represent so much more than just a team (which itself is an arm of a business).
Jerseys showcase local pride: The colors represent something about the city’s heritage; the logo recalls something special about the community. Other promotional products do those things, too, but nothing captures that magic like a jersey.
And, sometimes, you can just do something like make a team in Madison, Wisconsin, use a pink flamingo and a Miami Vice color scheme for no other reason than it’s fun. Remember, promotional products should be fun, too.
We have a good batch of fun promo products this week. So throw on your favorite jersey and check them out.

Speaking of sports jerseys, no site documents them better than Uni Watch. It looks like the site is about to drop some merchandise, like this sort of bobblehead-y logo pin.
2. Faye Webster Goose Island Beer

Singer-songwriter Faye Webster might be an Atlanta native, but Chicago’s Goose Island Brewery is giving her a special beer during Pitchfork Festival. Of course it has some peach imagery and flavor, given her roots.
3. Carpet Co. Turnstile Blanket
What’s that? More band merchandise? You got it! Baltimore skateboard shop and apparel brand Carpet teamed up with local punk/hardcore band Turnstile to release a whole line of branded merchandise relating to skateboarding and beyond. This one is a blanket depicting the band’s latest album “Glow On,” which some of the PM staff has had on heavy rotation for a couple of weeks now.

As big readers, we like seeing authors and books get their share of the promo spotlight. Sally Rooney’s much-anticipated novel “Beautiful World, Where Are You” is out now, and fans can show their excitement with this bucket hat.

If we were medical professionals, we’d 100% rock these “Flatliners” scrubs just to freak patients out a little bit. Is it ethical? Is it the best for bedside manner? Probably not. But, laughter really is the best medicine.
