Our 5 Favorite Promotional Products: ‘Star Wars’ Coolers, ‘Austin Powers’ References and More

In honor of Inauguration Day, we’re inaugurating a new batch of five promotional products to hold the highest office in the land—a place on our Fave 5 list.

That’s no slam on last week’s products. We like to think that every featured products of previous weeks are sort of Favorite Emeritus, so to speak. They always hold a place in our hearts.

But, in the spirit of moving forward, it’s time to check out five new products this week.

1. ‘The Child’ Igloo Playmate Cooler

If you haven’t watched “The Mandalorian,” first of all, what are you doing? It’s so fun. But, you might be a little sick of Baby Yoda popping up all over the place. This is probably the most fitting promotion we’ve seen with him, since he’s always floating around in a little cooler-looking crib thing. Everyone can feel like Mando when they’re carrying this thing around.

2. Pittsburgh City Paper Valentine’s Merchandise

Have you ever driven in Pittsburgh? The road layout makes absolutely no sense, and if you aren’t capable of cutting over three lanes in about an eighth of a mile in rush hour traffic, you might end up on one of the city’s million or so bridges.

3. Stone’s Tote Bag

Non-Pennsylvanians might not know this, but it’s incredibly inconvenient to buy booze in this state. You can’t just roll up to the grocery store and get everything you need for the party. You have to go to a special store. One of our local stores, Stone’s, dropped these stylish tote bags, which are a much more dignified way to carry a couple of six packs when you feel like sampling some new things.

4. Packers ‘I Love Gold’ T-shirt

When was the last time you saw an “Austin Powers” reference? It had to have been, like, 2007, right? Props to BreakingT and the Packers for dropping a casual “Goldmember” reference almost 19 years after the movie’s release to celebrate Green Bay’s NFC championship game appearance.

5. ‘Can I Borrow a Feeling’ Cassette

There’s just something nice about cassette packaging. Sure, vinyl is a bigger, more artistic packaging experience. But you can’t beat that compact little tape. Simpsons fans can finally order Kirk Van Houten’s sad bachelor song on a convenient format.
