PROMOTIONS EAST 2009 Posts Strong Distributor Attendance, Continues Legacy As the Industry’s Premier East Coast Event

The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York Inc. (SAAGNY) based in Montvale, New Jersey announced that PROMOTIONS EAST 2009 posted a verified attendance of nearly 3,600 distributor sales professionals from 1,735 companies, up more than 16% from last year.

The 2009 show was a new beginning for PROMOTIONS EAST. SAAGNY, along with it’s five sister regional associations, CPPA, MAPPA, NEPPA, SACDV and TRASA, engaged Promo Marketing for this year’s sales and marketing responsibilities. The show delivered the region’s most successful verified attendance and concluded with an intense post-show buzz, reaffirming PROMOTIONS EAST’s position as the industry’s premier East Coast event. Both suppliers and distributors left the 2009 trade show with exciting feedback on the education, networking and special events.

Carol Walkner, MAS and national sales manager of Linden, New Jersey-based Jayline International, said, “After 30 years of shows I must say that this year’s PROMOTIONS EAST show was one of the best shows I have ever attended. Perhaps that’s too mild—it may have been the best show I have ever attended.”

Andrew Mackay, president of East Northport, New York-based ColorStrike/Liquid Technologies, said, “I consider the show a great success! Distributors showed great enthusiasm and interest in seeing, touching and learning more about our unique interactive product line.” Mackay continued, “We had close to 1,000 distributors stop by our booth, received over 100 sample orders and distributed 500 catalogs. We are looking forward to doing the show again next year.”

PROMOTIONS EAST 2009, held June 1-3 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, featured a jam-packed education program with 5 tracks and 25 sessions. Programming was highlighted by the “Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)—The Impact on our Industry” panel discussion, which provided a general overview of the law and requirements for product scanning, certified lab testing, distributor/end-user product information and CPSIA certification. In addition to education and networking, attendees were energized with several contests throughout the show to enhance the experience and create excitement.
