Standard Press Installs New Hardware, Hires Wide Format Manager

Atlanta’s oldest independent printer just got bigger and better as Standard Press announced the successful installation of a new wide format printer. The HP Scitex FB 700 has the ability to produce a wide-range of high quality and high resolution products including point of purchase and point of sale materials, vinyl and retractable banners, indoor and outdoor signage, event materials, trade show graphics and clings. To further expand the company’s in-house capabilities, Standard Press also announced the purchase of the Kongsberg XL, a computerized diecutting system that exclusively handles the finishing of wide format work.

“We are very excited to offer enhanced capabilities in the wide format world,” said Andy Shulman, president of Standard Press. “Our customers are stretched for time more than ever and we feel there is tremendous value for them to have one partner they can count on for their offset, digital and wide format printing needs.”

“As a company that focuses heavily on customer needs, Standard Press is committed to investing in new services, solutions and technology. Based on the variety of marketing materials that can be produced on the HP Scitex FB 700, we believe the addition of this equipment will be extremely beneficial to our customers,” he added.

To manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s growing wide format department, Standard Press is also pleased to announce the hiring of wide format manager Jason Smoyer. Smoyer has extensive experience in wide format printing and is viewed as a subject matter expert in this field. His background and experience, along with his dedication to quality control and commitment to a consistent, well-maintained workflow, make him an asset to the Standard Press team.
